# Claims Ledger Trace Model v0.1

Status: **Practitioner-method schema draft**

Authority: **PRACTITIONER_METHOD / AI_ASSISTED**

> Let a cold reader traverse one bounded assessment claim through its subject, obligation occurrence, evidence, applicability predicate, disposition, and reopening trigger without reconstructing the joins from prose.

## Authority boundary

This model preserves identifiers, relationships, time, authority, limitations, and unresolved work. A complete trace is not proof that a claim is true, evidence is sufficient, a PCI DSS requirement applies, an assessment result is warranted, or a compliance-accepting entity will accept the result.

## Cold-reader test

1. What exact proposition is being asserted?
2. Which stable subject and boundary does it describe?
3. Which obligation and dated occurrence should produce support?
4. What period does each evidence object actually represent?
5. Which explicit predicate is being evaluated?
6. Which authority may record the bounded disposition?
7. Where must the conclusion stop today?
8. What change, contradiction, or missed occurrence reopens it?

## Stable join vocabulary

- `CLAIM ABOUT_SUBJECT SCOPE_SUBJECT` — The claim names the exact subject and boundary it describes.
- `CLAIM REQUIRES_OCCURRENCE OBLIGATION_OCCURRENCE` — The claim depends on a dated instance of expected work.
- `CLAIM SUPPORTED_BY EVIDENCE_OBJECT` — An evidence object is offered for a bounded part of the claim.
- `TEST EVALUATES APPLICABILITY_PREDICATE` — A named procedure evaluates an explicit predicate rather than inferring from a form.
- `OBSERVATION INFORMS DISPOSITION` — Observed results inform, but do not automatically decide, the accountable disposition.
- `TRIGGER REOPENS CLAIM` — A dated change or contradiction returns the affected claim to review.

## Fictional comparison

### Closed historical occurrence

**Claim:** `EXAMPLE-CLAIM-ASV-COVERAGE@2026-Q2`

The identified public-edge population was represented in the fictional 2026 Q2 external scan occurrence.

**Where the conclusion stops:** The trace stops at historical support. It cannot support the open Q3 occurrence or any endpoint introduced after the evidence period.

### Open current occurrence

**Claim:** `EXAMPLE-CLAIM-ASV-COVERAGE@2026-Q3`

The current public-edge population is represented in the fictional 2026 Q3 external scan occurrence.

**Where the conclusion stops:** The trace stops before disposition because the current occurrence is still open and no current-period evidence object has been recorded.
